YHC prayed us out, thankful for another double digit turn out and asked for strength and fellowship in the coming months.

MOLESKIN:
Very appreciative to everyone that came out this morning. Workout was supposed to be on the tennis court with motivators in between, but we improvised. Lots of grumble during the inchworm. Ant bite karma on the Merkin Walk. General disgust from pack leaders Aaarrrggghhh and AlrightAlright when YHC called the Merkin Walk when the rest of the PAX was halfway. Rump Roast claimed 7Fs on the scale. YHC was not informed of the beer/claw requirement this morning, which may have been why most of y’all showed up… but beers will be served tomorrow at the harbor!

PAX: Alright Alright, B Cup ,Chairman Mao, Gold Digger, Teasip

AO: La Madeline (launch point)
Date: 7/20/20
F3 DISCLAIMER & WELCOME: Given

WARM-O-RAMA:
ISTs and SSHs

THA THANG:
Mosey to the North end of Mockingbird Bridge, which is station #1.  Station #2 is the South end of the bridge. Station #3 is the Northwest corner of Glencoe Park and Station #4 is the Southeast corner of Glencoe.

Station #1 = 5 Burpees / Station #2 = 5 Burpees & 10 Merkins / Station #3 = 5 Burpees & 10 Merkins & 20 Lunges / Station #4 = 5 Burpees & 10 Merkins & 20 Lunges & 40 Situps

The workout was to do the exercises above at the station and then run at typical Katy Trail interval pace to the next station, then do those exercises….repeato etc.

Station order: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 3 / 1 / 4

On the second station 4 we only ran to station 3 (due to time), but did the full station 4 exercises then interval pace/all you got back to station 2 and then from there mosey back to La Madeline with time for 5 more burpees.

Totals: 40 Burpees, 50 Merkins, 80 Lunges, 80 WWI situps and somewhere between 2.7 and 3 miles

MARY:
Done at station 4

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
YHC exhorted us out

MOLESKIN:
This was a fun one.  Due to the delinquency of this backblast YHC doesn’t recall much of the mummblechatter. The escalating nature of the exercises was cribbed from a Rump Roast workout a few day earlier.

AO: Burleson Garage (Omaha from Glencoe with the storms)
F3 DISCLAIMER & WELCOME: Given

WARM-O-RAMA:
SSH x20, IST x17, Windmill x10

THA THANG:
With the storm, YHC was forced to Omaha to the Burleson parking garage for a modified beatdown from what YHC originally planned.

Start with 12 merkins, then alternate running and back pedaling up the ramps to the last covered one.

OH Press x20 at the top, then run/back pedal back down. Followed that with a ramp suicide (run to the far parking space line and run back and keep going until you touch every line on the ramp).

Followed that up with Squats x15 and Bear Crawl up 4 ramps, then shuffle down the ramps.

Burpees x12 and WW1 Sit ups x15 OYO once we got back to the bottom. Followed by Crawl Bear up 4 ramps which was quite the crowd pleaser. Shuffle back down the ramps.

Finish up with lunge walk up one ramps, backwards lunge up another, The Bird x20 and Mountain Climbers x10 before moseying back down for 3 MoM

MARY:
Uptown Crunch x12, Rugby sit ups x15

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
YHC prayed us out.

MOLESKIN:
YHC woke up to a text from AA concerned about lightning. YHC didn’t see any while getting ready, so wasn’t concerned about the impending storm. Until YHC started driving, then decided that yes lightning was everywhere and Omaha’d to the Burleson parking garage. Sex Panther confirmed we couldn’t get into the garage but I think several of the PAX had already figured that out. During the windmills, it was noticed that YHC had a much slower count than Plus One who said that the Windmill is obviously a cardio workout. There wasn’t much grumbling until the Crawl Bears which got several groans and death glares from the PAX. Rumor has it Shifty McCoy splashed merlot to which Rump said YHC should feel terrible about. But YHC has no time for feelings or sympathy at that time of the day. Overall a good beatdown and a fun Omaha in the sweatbox.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
YHC prayed us out.

MOLESKIN:
YHC went hunting last night for an old track workout and pulled this gem out of the dustbin. Not terribly exciting but mentally tough.  AA and Chairman paired off as a team and the threesome of PlusOne, Icebox and YHC hit the trail around GJF Stadium.  YHC had given the PAX a vote between groiners and burpees before they knew what we were doing. PAX voted groiners  without YHC having to cast the deciding vote.  Obviously, mumberchatter was pretty much nonexistent during this workout because of physical distance and PAX were gassed.  Team AA/Chairman made it through a round of 19 (96 merkins/groiners) while Team Icebox/PlusOne/Oatmeal made it through the round of 17 (77 merkins/groiners).

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
YHC prayed us out. Alright Alright proposed an idea of starting every workout with a Merkin Ring of Fire so guys can get familiar with each others names.

MOLESKIN:
Small group this morning, which was a shame cuz the no shows missed out on some great Trail running weather. Alright Alright informed us that Pepper did his best politician impersonation by promising to have a perfect rest of the week starting today, but alas he was a no show. Maybe he’ll HC again for tomorrow? AA said Pepper promised him Canes if he didn’t show, so we’ll see if Pepper will pay up. Everyone was pretty sore from either the Harbor yesterday (even Sally with his half post yesterday) so YHC tried to hit the upper body hard. This was confirmed by AA saying this was the heaviest upper body Trail day (Mustang nonwithstanding). Overall, a solid beatdown enjoying probably the last good weather day until October.

It was good to be out on the Trail again. Great having Gibbler from Knoxville. Alright Alright decided it wasn’t hot enough yet to drive up having already Chippendaled (YHC agreed), but the time will be coming soon. Oatmeal had a blowout/pulled Quad and had to bow out after the first quarter. He claimed to have gone back to La Madeline and done a workout, but we will never know. Also shout-out Aaarrrggghhh warning YHC about the bike coming from behind or that might have been the end of YHC.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
The group bestowed the FNG Miguel with the name Dem Apples. Chairman requests that we keep those in China who are facing the Coronavirus outbreak in our thoughts and prayers.

MOLESKIN:
Chairman showed up at his usual time. On the tennis courts Coach K pointed out that YHC sold the workout as “backday” and we worked shoulders yesterday with Alright Alright, but then YHC started out with Bear Crawls and Wheel Barrows.  FAIR POINT. But that was really just an extended warmup.

Blistex was in town for his 2.0’s soccer tournament in Frisco, little did he know he could have joined the Plano relaunch today and saved some driving time, but YHC and all the PAX were stoked that he came out to Burleson.

Sticking together with the 4 man group throughout the circuit made for some great Mummblechatter, our group covered Coach K trying out for the Bachelor, Ant Man and Draper’s soccer exploits, 90 Day Fiancee, among others.

Siesta got a small taste of Qing by counting cadence for the Mary exercise that he called. Good to see and looking forward to more of that from him.

MOLESKIN:
The PAX (mainly Ina and Aaarrrggghhh) were rather annoyed that we passed over Katy Trail again for the always crowd pleaser of the Mustang. It was originally going to be a benchmark, but since that was not included on Band, YHC omaha’d and made it a team mustang

Where is Williams Park?

PAX: Chairman Mao, Island Time, Oatmeal, Plus One, Sally, Sex Panther, Special Sauce, Teasip
QIC: Coach K
AO: Burleson – Williams Park
Mileage: 4.35

Disclaimer: given quickly but thoroughly for AlrightAlright and YHC
Warm-O-Rama: none, we had places to be

Tha Thang:
-Run down University Blvd to Williams Park Pavilion with a couple stops on the way
-Partner DORA with 50 burpees, 75 merkins, 100 squats
-Run to south portion of Williams Park for a Dirty McUno
-Run up McFarlin Dr back to the main quad at SMU with a couple stops on the way
-Jacob’s Ladder starting with 6 gorilla squats and 1 burpee
-AYG sprint up the Burleson parking garage
-Brief Mary and 10 burpees before moseying back for a 1-minute plank hold

Mumblechatter:
YHC did some extra credit, which started off our lovely mumblechatter this morning getting called out for specifically creating a beatdown to avoid that. A little stressed this week, so YHC broke his own rule but still delivered a running intensive beatdown. PAX had some other comments about YHC he overheard, but we’ll let those fizzle out. YHC halted the chatter at 0700 on the nose and disclaimed the two workouts (disabled Alright Alright led a non-running alternative). The running group immediately took off. The run was your warm-up – best there ever was. PAX were surprised at the brevity of the intro and let their thoughts be heard before we stopped and did some SSH and ISTs on our route to Williams Park – you know, that place not close to Burleson. YHC promised Sally last night that we were going somewhere never before for a Saturday. Oatmeal and Special Sauce made hesitant jokes about running to Germany Park, but YHC will save that for a future workout.

Highland Park is notorious for quarter mile (slight exaggeration, but barely so) blocks, so there were only three brief stops for PAX to recover. A group of female runners caused us to part like the Red Sea, and they apologized saying “we’re just giving you extra time to catch your breath”. YHC responded that “they didn’t need it”. Pronoun choice was quickly noted, but YHC apologizes for nothing. We made it to the Pavilion and a few PAX reminisced about not having been to that AO in months before jumping right into the DORA. We started with 25, 50, 100 reps but YHC called an unfavorable audible because why the hell not? Once the six wrapped up, Island Time gave quite the rapid 10-count and off we ran to the southern portion of the park for a Dirty McUno with some Irkens, Derkins, and Dips. We carried on like wayward sons passing some really fine benches just around the corner. Everyone must’ve been a little delirious because we were all a little too impressed with the comparable comfort we could’ve been using.

Our trip back to Burleson was just as eventful. On the way to the first intersection Special Sauce called out that we need a six roundup. One of the PAX made YHC out to be the villain implying they should learn to run faster, which…we’ll circle back to in a short while. All the six were accounted for in true F3 fashion whereby 2-3 PAX who arrived early went back for the six while the rest were led in some ab/core exercise. This is the typical means by which PAX are picked up rather than the whole group returning – casual sidebar. We got caught at the longest light ever on Hillcrest before making our way to the quad staircase for a Jacob’s Ladder. Not too much chatter here except for some complaints when burpees were announced. There was a brief mention about Boy Scout politics before we got back to it. Sex Panther did us all proud EH’ing a Troop Leader (Scout Leader? Not sure what the title is). Oatmeal offered up a business card, so hopefully Plano will have a new addition in the forthcoming weeks.

With 10 minutes left, we moseyed to the garage before an AYG sprint to the top followed by some abs and 10 burpees to remind the PAX who YHC is. Somewhere in this endeavor Special Sauce mentioned that someone should’ve had a Go-Pro because the beatdown would’ve triggered some heavy FOMO for Alright Alright. Hopefully word of mouth and this garrulous backblast will accomplish the same thing. PAX finally corralled back at the flag for a 1-minute plank hold while time expired and we reunited with the rest of the crew.

Sauce clocked us in at 4.35 miles on the morning, which brings us back to some comments made this morning. Last night, YHC mentioned wanting harder workouts in the mornings to which people responded that others can’t keep up. If anything can be learned from YHC’s Amazing Race, the 220+ Burpee Beatdown, and today it’s that people can. We had a six today, but they were never left in the dust. Everybody completed every rep of the workout, and we did it together. While you certainly aren’t required, YHC would challenge Q’s to find one workout and do everything you can to beat the living shit out of the PAX the best you can because it makes us all better (you’ll also appreciate the schadenfreude). If 200+ burpees are the hardest part of your day, then YHC will argue that’s a pretty good day. And by now, unfortunately, every single one of y’all have proven that you can do it.

COT:
The two groups reunited giving Ant Man a hard time for being out and Chairman made a right-hand joke regarding a post-Valentine’s day CSAUP event. During the Name-O-Rama, an elderly scout woman walked into the circle and asked for directions. The Scouts were hosting some convention/meeting on SMU’s campus. One of the PAX gave the most nondescript directions telling her to “walk in that direction and eventually you’ll find them”. Sex Panther then offered to give her a ride. 5 minutes later, we could only assume that Sex Panther had EH’d this woman for some personal reasons, but he drove his truck back solo and joined the group as it made its way to Bubbas.
